INTER PROFESSIONAL MIDSUMMER BALL – 25 JUNE 7PM @ LEEDS UNIVERSITY REFECTORY
Why not join us for this year’s midsummer ball, which is to be held in support of Martin House Hospice. Tickets are £42.30 or £338.40 per table of 8. The tickets price includes a Pimms reception, 3 course dinner, with wine and live entertainment! The event provides the perfect opportunity to network with other young professional from across the region, not to mention a great evening out.

SPORTS DAY
Come along to this year’s annual sports day. It’s a great opportunity to keep fit with games of football and netball throughout the day. We will be having a BBQ at lunchtime and rounding the day off with an Otley Run (hopefully in the sun!!) More details to follow…

Shelter Quiz
A big thank you to everyone who attended the Shelter Quiz at Chilli White on 1 April 2010. The event was a huge success and well done to the team “Knocked Up” for winning. Thanks also to ReLegal and Terry Cape for excellent work in preparing and hosting the night. In total £370 was raised for Shelter. Also, thank you to BCL for the recent drinks event. There was a great turn out and plenty of free drinks were had by all.
The Abbey Dash
The JLD team braved the weather and succesfully completed the Abbey Dash. See the sports page for the full report.
January Blues - 21 January 2010
January Blues at Smokestack was a rocking success. Thanks to a fantastic turn out, a great venue, and plenty of drinks - the JLD managed to shake away that post festive slump and see in 2010 in style.
Our sponsor for the event, ReLegal, kept spirits high with a generous bar tab and friendly faces.
The music from the live band was streamed through to provide some cool rhythms - there
may not have been overt grooving, but there were definitely hips a-shaking!
Congratulations to Jessica Goodman who won the business card raffle and received £25 of Latitude Wine vouchers.

The Big Quiz
Congratulations to Ford & Warren who came first in this year's Charity Quiz held on 2 December at
Chilli White's. The College of Knowledge took second place and Hammonds' Team Blue Steel
came third.
Thanks to the College of Law for hosting the quiz. Together we raised £340 for the Citizen's Advice
Bureau.
Small Firms Welcome Event and Oktoberfest
Our social calendar kicked off with two fabulous events.The first
ever events exclusively for firms with eight trainees or less
was held at Prohibition.
Over 50 people attended and enjoyed free food and wine,
whilst having the opportunity to mix with other junior lawyers.

Oktoberfest was the welcome event for the new JLD year held
at Roast. Sausages and beer tasting were enjoyed by all;
please see the galleryfor photos of the night.
