I am happy to announce that this year the Leeds Junior Lawyers Division have five positions open to applications. Please see the below list. Please can all applications be forwarded to our Chair [email protected] by 31 July 2018.
In your application in no more than 500 words please tell us why you think you would be suitable for the role and why you would like to sit on the committee for the Leeds Junior Lawyers Division. Please include your firm and position.
Any contested positions shall be sent out to members via the mailing list to vote at the beginning of August.
All positions shall be announced by the end of August. The first meeting of the new JLD year shall be on 12 September 2018.
Media – This representative is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the JLD. Preferably someone armed with fresh ideas to further improve the outreach of the Leeds JLD and with a good understanding of social media/IT.
Charities and Education – This representative would liaise with our charity of the year and organise events to raise money for the charity, in conjunction with sponsors. The representative would also organise educational events with organisations including the national JLD, SRA, firms and business coaches.
Sports – Our sports representative would work alongside our remaining sports rep to organise a fun sporting calendar for members of the JLD. This includes the annual ski trip, rounders match and lots more fun sporting events!
Bar Representative – A member of the bar, whether it be pupil or tenant, to hold this position. They would represent the views of barrister members of the JLD and organise networking events for solicitors and barristers.
FELT Representative – ‘Firm of Eight or Less Trainees’. We invite trainees from smaller firms to hold this post who will organise social and networking events for trainees of small/high street firms throughout the year.
