Choose your Leeds JLD Committee for 2026
EVENTS OFFICER
PIPPA BRADLEY

Since relocating to Leeds a year ago, the Leeds JLD has given me so many exciting opportunities. From first attending events alone, to now having met some of my closest friends through joining, I’m a huge advocate for all the Leeds JLD represents. I would love to be considered for the role of Events Office. As an excited new-comer to Leeds, I would love to engage more with the local community and design events that showcase the very best of Leeds – Supporting local artists/musicians with social events, possibly hosting a “live music night”, and somewhat big ambitions of holding an event at White Cloth Hall. Another crazy event idea I had was hosting a take on “Forbes 30 under 30” panel event where we could invite individuals in Leeds who have progressed quickly in their career, are ex-LJLD Chairs, or have been shortlisted for recognised ‘rising star’ awards and hear their career stories firsthand.

Having organised my first event with the Leeds JLD in September, it feels fitting to apply for this role. Whilst I loved the chance to create a new event for the JLD, from pitching the idea, designing the layout, and arranging sponsorship, the standout moment for me was being able to represent the LJLD and talk to everyone who attended! It was so inspiring to hear the different routes into law, what brought people to Leeds and what’s kept them here! I was no way the first to have taken a leap of faith and relocate (nor will I be the last), and I would love to be a presence for members at events who come to the JLD having had the same apprehensions, hoping to make genuine friendships and connections.

I also had the privilege of meeting Jane Dawson of the Ella Dawson Foundation at an event a few weeks later and I was so moved to think that that the LJLD have had a small part to play in their charity and recognised the impact events like the Ball, Summer BBQ etc. have. I would be really proud to continue this legacy with other charities.

I’m enthusiastic, passionate and hardworking. I’m not naive to the hard work that the Committee dedicate to the role and to being an ambassador for the Leeds Junior network. As someone who loves meeting new people, has a real love for what they do and secretly loves the planning (and last-minute stress) of seeing an event pull together, I would be very grateful to receive your vote. I had no idea when moving to Leeds if it would work out, and the LJLD helped me find my place and feel a little less alone in what could have otherwise felt totally overwhelming! It offers young professionals the chance to share the highs and challenges of their early career, and for me, has truly given me confidence that it’s never too late/early to make new friends or want to make something special of your career!
