The JLD Committee are delighted to announce that our members have voted for Zarach to be our charity of the year!
Zarach was set up in 2015 and works all over Leeds to provide beds for local students. The founder, Bex Wilson, is a deputy head teacher at a local school, who started by delivering beds with the help of her dad to children in her class who lived in poverty and had nowhere to sleep.
The charity’s motto is #EatSleepLearn, as they believe that one of the best ways to break the cycle of poverty is to ensure that every child has a comfortable bed to sleep in so they are able to learn properly at school.
They receive referrals through schools and have recently delivered their 700th bed for children across the city.

Entry to the raffle is only £5 for 10 tickets and the closing date is Monday 5th April at 8pm. A live draw will take place on Facebook on 5th April at 8.15pm and winners will be notified as soon as possible afterwards.
